21 Days Before The Wedding (Part 1)

stressed-lady-biting-fingernails.jpg

So imagine it, you’re three weeks till your big and magical day and you are in high stress and panic mode! You’re second guessing your look; your bride’s maids all have an opinion about something that drives you crazy. Nobody is on the page and you are thinking... this is my BIG day, why should I listen to any of them? Maybe… OR maybe you are just overwhelmed and stressed. You are sweating the small stuff with how close this magic day is. Don’t worry.

We highly recommend during the next three weeks before the big day, take some time and pamper yourself. Here are some recommendations we think can help relieve stress, feel productive. (Make it girls day)!

1.    Have a spa party

Spend time with your bride’s maids. Gossiping is always fun and in the end you feel rejuvenated and relaxed. Book a on location SPA party

2.    Eyebrow waxing – Definitely want to do this 2-3 days before the big day. Why not make it a girl’s day with brunch as well.

3.    Spray Tan – I definitely recommend (if you want) to do a spray tan try it out three weeks before to make sure you like it. If everything went well go back in for your spray tan 3 days before the wedding.

Tanning is always relaxing if you can do it out in the sun. But watch out for sun damaged.

4.    Nails – You definitely want to do all your Mani-Pedi’s at least 4-5 days before the wedding. We definitely recommend using Gel for a longer lasting color. If your doing a regular manicure this needs to be done the day before your wedding otherwise you risk chipping on the day of.

5.   Lastly but definitely not least – eye lashes. If you are looking for extensions its best to actually try them out a month in advance and retouch it the week before.

The Hair: Do's, Don't's & Tips

Thinking about your big day? I know the excitement and the stress are killing you. Luckily you have nothing to fear. We here at Krystal Studios have tips for everything and this week, we would like to focus on... HAIR.

Hair is definitely a big item to work with and the sooner the better. We have tips for do's and don't's, when the best time is to start planning your hairstyle and products we definitely recommend to keep those locks healthy, shiny and smooth.

First off, I bet all you lucky brides are wondering when should I start planning out my hairstyle?  We definitely recommend seeing us as far out as six months before the big day. Planning on the perfect look from highlights to colors to updos or leaving your hair down is a big decision and you want to make sure you like the style and the color.  This also gives enough time that if you want to alter, or change the style you have plenty of time to do so.

It is also good to keep your hair conditioned and treated. Depending on your hair type, here are some good options:

For Fine hair: It is best to stay away from oil based deep conditioners. These products will wipe away any volume from fine strands. This can also leave your scalp greasy. We here at Krystal Rose Studios recommend a Keratin conditioning treatment. Find these treatments that are made of proteins to strengthen hair without adding any excess weight. Once a week is enough for your hair type.

Our recommendation is Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin Intensive Treatment

For Curly hair/damaged hair: If you have thick, coarse or dry curly hair, shea butter and/or coconut oil are your best bets. You definitely want to speak to your stylist at Krystal Rose Studios in regards to the best hair masks and conditioning treatments to keep those curly locks hydrated. A leave-in conditioner like Paul Mitchell's Full Leave-in Circle Treatment is a great option

A few extra other tips:

Be sure to visit your hairstylist 2-3 weeks before hand to get the color touch-up and style you want. (1.5 weeks for Blonde colors/style touch-ups)

So, ladies remember plan your color/highlights/hair cut/ deep conditioners 6 months out with your hair stylist. By the time your wedding comes around your hair will be on point because you and your stylist had a plan! Three months out from your wedding book your bridal trial. Your color should be around the color you envision for your wedding day at this time. When you come to your trial you want to be prepared, things to bring are; clip in hair extensions, hair accessories, veil, earrings, necklace, photo inspirations, and anything that is involved in your wedding vision. If your unsure of what color or where to get your hair extensions let us know, so we can help you! Enjoy hair planning!

We here at Krystal Rose Studios, highly recommend preparing for your wedding at least six months before (earlier the better). Consult with a professional for the best opinions and treatments. We definitely recommend a hydrating facial before the big day. Having skin that is hydrated not only feels good for you but also makes makeup look and feel light. At Krystal Rose Studios, have aesthetician Rebecca D'Aquila who definitely knows how to leave your skin feeling radiant and soft before, and on the big day.

As the bride to be, make sure you drink plenty of water. Not only does it help you stay healthy and hydrated, it also helps your skin stay young, hydrated and refreshed. We also recommend following this skincare regimen.

Five-step program for great skin:

Cleanser: We recommend using BPure's Exfoliate  & Renew Cleanser. Compared to Murad's Aha-BHA exfoliating cleanser and Peter Thompson Cleanser, it is sulfate free and parabran free with botanical fragrances (Pricing comparison: Peter Thompson $38 8.2oz BPure Exfoliate & Renew Cleanser $28 for 8oz and no artificial fragrances). Remember you must get a cleanser that fits with your specific skin type, whether you have dry, oily or combination skin. This cleanser is suitable for all skin types, may be used everyday or 3 times a week along with your regular cleanser.

Toner: Our Renew & Awaken Toner is a perfect addition to your skin regimen. Our toner comes with ginseng & chamomile giving the skin a healthy glow, hydrating, and maintaining elasticity. We definitely recommend this product if you have dry, normal or combination skin. If you have a problem more with acne, toners with witch hazel will be a great option.

Serum: BPure Beauty's Serum is a great anti-aging remedy. Apply after toner to help keep a young and healthy glow. (Remember to target your skin type when looking for the perfect serum).

Small recap:

Remember all you brides-to-be, drink plenty of water (if you are working out, which we will talk about next time) remember a gallon a day.

Consult an aesthetican to plan out a series of facials and peels best suited for your skin type AT LEAST 6 months before the wedding. If your only able to get in one facial before your wedding day go in for a hydrating facial at least 2 weeks or more before your wedding date.

Get on a great 5 step skin care regimen.

These are the best steps to maintaining beautiful skin for your wedding (or for your everyday life).

A Guide to Self-Improvement in 2018

When a new year rolls around, many of us look for ways we can improve ourselves. For a lot of people, that mostly means getting in shape or finding a healthier lifestyle, but self-improvement can encompass a lot of things, from learning how to be a better parent to finding ways to help others in your community. The great thing about these changes is that they don’t just affect you; they touch the people in your life and can often inspire them to follow the same path.

The first step is to think about how you want to change your life for the better; second, think of ways you can implement those changes that will allow you to stick with them. For instance, it’s great to set a goal to lose weight by exercising every day, but if you don’t get specific with the steps you’ll take to achieve your goal, there’s a greater chance that you’ll get busy or tired and lose your motivation.

Plan ahead, then implement. Here’s how to get started.

Choose something that’s attainable

In many cases, it’s wonderful to dream big. However, if you want to set a goal and achieve it, sometimes it’s best to start small and go with something you know you can attain, then work your way up. There’s no rulebook that says you have to limit yourself to one goal; just work on one at a time. Check out this Men’s Health article, which talks about the best ways to prioritize your goals and tasks.

Garner support

Once you’ve figured out what it is you want to achieve, garner support from friends and family. If you’re on a mission to live a healthier lifestyle, talk to your family at home about getting everyone on the same page so you aren’t unintentionally sabotaged by your spouse when he or she brings home cookies and soda from the supermarket. Having those who love you in the loop when it comes to your goals will ensure you have cheerleaders to help keep you going when things get hard or when you push yourself outside of your comfort zone.

Help others

For some, helping others is the best way to start improving their lives. This can mean being active in your community by volunteering at a local animal shelter or library, preparing food for a homeless shelter, or baking some sweet treats for a lonely senior or the local fire department.

Sometimes, being able to give back allows us to see that our own lives aren’t as stressful as we once thought. Putting things in perspective—and helping someone else out in the process—can be a wonderful way to push the stress and anxiety away and focus on the good things in your life.

It’s okay to focus on yourself

While self-improvement can often include learning how to be better in the service of others, its core is exactly those words: improving yourself. That can mean any number of things, from setting a goal to go to the gym for daily workouts to cleaning out your closet and starting over with a new wardrobe. It can also mean learning how to handle stress, something that can benefit most people these days. When you’re more relaxed, you’re able to be the best parent, partner, employee, or student you can be. Find ways to cut out the stress in your life, such as heading to the spa for a day of pampering or meeting up with friends once a week for lunch, and do them as often as you can. Read this wonderful guide to find out how to escape stress no matter where you are.

Article by Paige Johnson

Self-improvement might be a very different path for you than it is for someone else, and that’s okay! Remember that it’s all about what’s right for you, and that achieving goals takes time. Be patient with yourself and keep communication open with your loved ones so you’ll have their support.

Ill tell ya, way to many.  The answer to your little problem is actually so simple and you can make at home in your own kitchen! I'm going to give you an easy  DIY that you can make whenever your in need of removing your pesky blackheads.

INGREDIENTS :

unflavored gelatin ( flavored gelatin may stain the skin)

milk( any kind of milk will do)

STEP 1:     Place 1 tbsp of unflavored gelatin powder in  microwavable safe bowl, add in 1 1/2 tbsp of milk.

STEP 2: Stir the  milk and gelatin mixture and place it in the microwave for about 10 seconds.

STEP 3: Dip a brush or the tip of your finger in the mixture and brush it over your problem area,( which i typically the nose).

STEP 4: Wait about 30 mins or so for the mixture to fully dry. After it is completely dry you can pull it right off. As you pull it off any dirt, dead skin cells and the clogs will go with it.

How To Conceal Under Eye Circle/Bags

Learn how to cover up dark circles with orange salmon concealer.

1)When you need to neutralize a color refer to the color wheel.

2)If you want to get rid of the blue undertone in your eye go with the opposite color on the wheel, which is blue.

3)Your next step is to conceal with one shade lighter than your natural color. I recommend using Bobbi Brown Correctors they come in 16 pink- or peach-based shades that are designed to layer with Bobbi Brown’s yellow-based concealers. My other favorite is Eve Pearl Concealers, which come in peach/salmon conceal shades.
